Description
Sonoran Desert National Monument opens wide across this stretch of the Vekol Valley corridor — flat, rock-studded Sonoran desert with open mountain views in every direction and enough dispersed pullouts along the well-graded gravel road to absorb rigs of any size without crowding. The access road off Vekol Valley Road is firm and well-maintained in dry conditions, though rigs longer than about 30 feet should scout turnouts on foot before committing. Cell signal is generally reliable here, and rock fire rings left by previous campers dot many of the sites.
