FR 172 Dispersed — Sitgreaves NF

The ponderosa pine highlands of Sitgreaves National Forest rise to roughly 7,500 feet, where this large dispersed site sits on the right-hand side of FR 172 near its junction with FR 237, quiet enough that traffic along the main road stays minimal. A fire ring anchors the cleared area, which drains reliably after rain and has room to spare even for large rigs. Wildlife is part of the backdrop — a sheep herd has been known to bed down on the rise to the north come summer.
