Coronado NF Dispersed off FR 42 (South Pinery Canyon)

Deep in the Chiricahua Mountains unit of Coronado National Forest, this shaded roadside spot sits roughly 4.7 miles past where pavement ends on FR 42 (South Pinery Canyon Road). The packed-gravel Forest Service road beyond the pavement is heavily washboarded and potholed — a 2WD van can make it, but progress is slow and high-clearance rigs will fare better. Tree cover keeps the site shaded and relatively cool, a welcome contrast to the surrounding high-desert terrain.
