Description
Tucked inside Coronado National Forest at the foot of the Pinaleño Mountains — locally called the White Tops — this remote spot occupies a natural clearing beside an old corral, with high-desert terrain rising steeply toward the peaks above. The 3.2-mile approach from Route 366 follows a four-wheel-drive road with a washed-out section at the corral entry, manageable for trucks and van-based rigs but not suited to larger vehicles. Solitude here is genuine — the nearest trailheads for Rincon Spring Trail #331 and Gibson Canyon Trail #308 are within a couple of miles, making it a quiet base for exploring the surrounding range.
