Description
Along the gravel stretch of the Elliott Highway (AK-2) in interior Alaska's boreal interior, this wide pullout sits beside an abandoned bridge — a remnant of an older alignment of the highway — in a quiet, spruce-fringed corridor well north of the Dalton Junction. Two informal sites with established fire rings give the spot a lived-in feel, and the large flat gravel area accommodates rigs of any size. No cell service out here, and summer mosquitoes are relentless — a head net is not optional.
