With access to hiking trails and a 64-acre lake, Nine Eagles State Park Campground serves anglers and outdoor enthusiasts exploring southern Iowa. The campground sits within forested terrain near Davis City, offering both electric hookup sites and primitive camping options from April through December.
The electric loop provides full hookups for RVs up to 60 feet, though campers note the sites sit close together with limited shade coverage. Reviews consistently mention the rough access road conditions. The primitive camping areas offer more space but require a longer walk to reach the lake and beach area. Clean bathhouse facilities and a dump station support both tent and RV campers, while the park maintains multiple unmarked trails throughout the property.
Fishing draws many visitors to the lake, which also features a swimming beach and boat ramp. Lauri C. notes the park offers a "clean beach, boat ramp and fishing" along with "clean spacious bathrooms, nice playground for the kids." The equestrian section provides horse camping with trail access, though these sites lack hookups. Firewood requires a trip to the nearby town, as no camp store operates on-site.
The park's location provides access to camping near Davis City for those exploring the region's Amish country stores and rural attractions.
