Riverview Park

This is a park that you may camp at within the city of Douglas. I was a little cautious when I pulled in thinking it may be for transients, but it was mostly van/car campers, tenters and a few pull behinds. It had a fair amount of traffic through the night, but quieted down in the middle of the…

LONG 20+ mile DIRT ROAD to get there!!!

From Douglas to Curtis Gulch campground it took us down some paved roads until all the sudden we were on a 20 plus mile dirt road! It was a bumpy LONG ride... once we got there most of the good spots were taken. There are 4 dispersed areas to camp & further down the road the campsites (only 5…

Extremely large State Park

I think I gave this park four stars out of low expectations. Middle of nowhere Guernsey Wyoming the state park wraps around a reservoir with beautiful rock formations. There are campgrounds scattered all over and around the campground. If you were in a big rig this is not the easiest place to camp……

Awesome place to visit

A wonderful place to tent camp. Very quiet area, and sites are usually secluded. Gorgeous views. The reservoir is not good for fishing, so we went to the nearby grayrocks reservoir and had luck there. Also, the water is freezing! We tried swimming. There was also a small wildfire while we were…

Showerhouse Closed!

Its a beautiful state park and I’m glad to have camped here during my travels around Wyoming. I stayed at Newell Bay as its first come first serve. The price for the park is $30 for 1 day and 1 night which is a bit expensive. My only complaint is that the showerhouse is closed! I wish it had stated…

Great hidden gem

Friend park was an absolute hidden gem. We only live about and hour away and had planned to camp in esterbrook. Well they were full and we saw a sign for Friend Park and figured, why not. I almost turned around because it was taking so long I thought I was lost. The road is very bumpy in spots.…

Jackalope Capital

Douglas KOA

Home of the Jackalope! Douglas, Wyoming that is. They claim the original “discovery” of the Jackalope and everyone else just followed suit. There is a Jackalope silhouette outside of town on a hill, there are Jackalope lick Nessie’s throughout town and there is a Jackalope Square that…

Reno Cove

Sits on top of a hill with mostly cedars on the perimeter. We only stayed one night, and it was a quiet one. Had a big group of wild turkey wander through the next morning! The campground was clean.

Owners are awesome

Bathroom and showers are super clean. Owners were helpful in recommending a place to eat and let us pick our spot. Enjoyed the cows who came up to visit.

Good overnight spot

U shaped parking lot. Park area with picnic tables in the middle & one side. No fires. Pets ok. Right next to a river. Gas stations nearby. Good water pressure for filling freshwater tank. Free dump station on site. Very noisy & lots of drive-throughs overnight. A couple homeless people…
