Description
High above a dramatic bend in the North Platte River, this BLM overlook sits atop exposed canyon rim country southwest of Alcova — open sky, sheer cliffs, and a sweeping view down into Fremont Canyon below. The access track off Fremont Canyon Road (FR 408) runs about 1.9 miles to the rim and is deeply rutted and steep in sections, demanding genuine high-clearance; even lifted trucks have caught ground in the rougher spots. The cliff-edge setting is best suited to experienced campers traveling without dogs or young children.
