Great Spot

We stayed on the East Side of the lake by the dock. Vault toilets, Paved roads, right on the water, fire pits, etc. Clean - first come first serve - fills up quick starting around 5pm om Friday. So if you're trying for the weekend - get there quick.

Quiet and comfortable

Just wanted somewhere kind of close to go check out and camp. Husband wanted to go fishing there so we figured if there were sites we would stay. Pulled in and there are two sides of the lake to stay on. We had one picked out but then decided to try the other side which I’m glad we did since we were right near the water at the boat launch. Lots of access to the water. Lake has trout, largemouth bass and crappies. Toilets are vault houses but were clean enough. The place fills up fast so if you want a spot in the weekend then you better get there fast.

How does Leader Lake Campground compare to other camping options near Leavenworth?

While Leader Lake Campground is in the same general region as Leavenworth, it offers a different experience than the Alpine-themed camping options closer to that tourist destination. Unlike many Leavenworth-area campgrounds that may require reservations months in advance, Leader Lake operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground fills quickly on Friday afternoons, so early arrival is recommended for weekend camping. For those seeking fishing and water activities over mountain views and tourist amenities, Leader Lake is an excellent alternative to the often crowded Leavenworth-area campgrounds.
