Decided to change plans and visit Staircase so we needed a place to stay. There were a lot of campgrounds in the area but this one seemed the most interesting. After a VERY lengthy drive down a gravel road with a beautiful view of lake Cushman, we ended up at Staircase campground and were immediately in love. We got a site with a view of the lake, but you don’t even need that to enjoy it here. The rainforest-y environment makes it so cozy and magical that we would have been happy with any site. I felt like I was in a magical world from a story book. The payment process was nice too since the park takes credit card payments and we don’t carry cash. Our site was huge, the bathroom facilities were clean, and there was drinking water available. This campsite definitely made it to the top of list for experiences during our trip.
