Smokey point rest stop

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

This overnight parking area along Interstate 5 provides a roadside stop with restrooms, drinking water, and picnic tables for travelers. The facility accommodates big rigs and allows pets, though one camper noted the absence of water fountains as a drawback. State patrol officers regularly monitor the area and enforce time limits, particularly in designated 15-minute parking zones.

Campers should be aware that overnight stays may draw law enforcement attention, as officers consider window coverings and extended parking as indicators of camping attempts. The location serves primarily as a rest stop rather than a designated campground, with enforcement varying by officer discretion.

Could be Better.. Could be Worse.

I'm still Stuck, Trying to figure out what's the truth..& what's a lie...or misguided information, maybe..? So, I've been judged & "warned" by two different state troopers who were "letting me know" that you cannot "camp" - @ this location, nor should you have any of your windows covered (for privacy, obviously, idk ab you but I don't like people watching me or my belongings, in my sleep)~ but the 1st officer let me know that covering your windows gives off the idea that's what you're doing is 'trying' to 'camp' ~ make sure to Not park in the 15min parking spots, considering the 2nd officer was all types of lipy with us & was all "how long does that sign say you can park here, in this spot" i read it aloud, & he's said "mkay, you got til i leave to get the hell out of the slot, considering you're well over that time limit, right?" ....anyways, they're prejudice & judgmental ~ the 1st officer was intentionally looking through all my belongings that he could visibly look thru w his bright ass flashlight hardcore, looking for any type of paraphernalia all because he Assumed (in which, I don't lie, ab) i have an addiction & was trying to find anything he could to try catching me up ~ both times i was pretty much told, it isn't an overnight rest area, you're technically only welcome @ this location for up to, a few hours, @ most, don't be an ass & park in 15min parking only (even if it's the Only spot available to you, when you arrive) ~ & remember not to cover your windows bc it's just 1 more reason for them to 'snoop'. I guess it's a "high drug area" which, I didn't know, I just recently became homeless, in my vehicle, & so for the 1st officer to just assume that because I'm an addict I was just suppose to know that that's was how it is...i personally have never gotten along w cops...they think because they wear a badge they're better than regular civilians when their jobs literally to "protect & serve" ~ yet, I rarely ever see that actually happening...lmao. people think cuz I'm homeless I ain't a taxpayer like nah, just cuz I dont have my own home ATM does not mean I dont pay my yearly dues as the rest of this miserable species does😅😅 But, other than the police interactions it's an alright pit stop spot, in my opinion. I like the bathrooms, they have. 2 women's side & 2 mens, also, you're allowed to have help from the opposite sex if you're disabled an whatnot. Sadly, no water fountains, that's a big downfall, for me.
