Walk-in access through forested terrain leads to Evergreen Campground, a private facility near Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. The rough access road requires some planning, though the campground provides drinking water, restrooms, and WiFi once campers arrive. Picnic tables and fire rings support traditional camping setups.
The lakeside location opens up fishing and swimming opportunities, while hiking, biking, and equestrian trails extend into the surrounding forest. At $70 per night with reservations available, the campground serves as a base for island exploration. Lakedale Resort sits nearby for campers preferring resort-style amenities over the walk-in format.
Description
Evergreen Campground offers San Juan Island camping among the pines, cedar and salal berry bushes of three acres of old growth forest. Our four cleared, groomed and carefully placed sites offer privacy, a picnic table, two camp chairs, a raised tent platform, a fire pit and a view of Sportman Lake through the trees. Each campsite accommodates two adults and includes parking for one vehicle in our adjacent lot. A Porta-potty and a hand washing station are common to the campground.
Evergreen Campground Policies
- All site rates are nightly.
- A non-refundable deposit of one night is required and charged at the time of reservation.
- Check-in time is 1:00pm.
- Check-out time is 11:00am.
- Property-wide quiet hours are 10:00pm to 8:00am.
- Due to our fragile environment, pets are not allowed.
- We are an adults only facility.
General Information
- Due to lack of provider coverage in the middle of the island…most cell phones do not receive reception on our property and internet service is unreliable.
- There are coin-operated showers at the Port of Friday Harbor Marina in Friday Harbor and at Roche Harbor Marina.
- We are located less than five miles north of the Friday Harbor ferry landing.

Directions from SJI ferry dock to Evergreen Campground Our address is 46 Elena Dr., Friday Harbor, Washington 98250 Head Southwest on Ferry Dock Road towards Front Street South. Turn right on to Front Street South. Turn left towards Spring Street. Turn left on to Spring Street. Turn right on to 2nd Street North/2nd Street South. Turn right on to Tucker Avenue. Tucker becomes Roche Harbor Road. Continue on Roche Harbor Road to Elena Drive (about 4 miles). Turn right on to Elena Drive. Drive past the Inn to the Woods B&B sign. We are the next drive on the right off Elena Drive. You will see our "Evergreen Campground” sign. Save Travels!
