Great Park with beautiful beach access
We stay at First Landing at least once each year. This year we stayed over spring break. There are RV sites that back up to the beach, although walking over the dunes is not permitted to prevent damage and erosion. There are convenient boardlwalks direct to the beach. The sites not too close together and are nicely separated by trees and shrubs. There are no sites with full hookup which is always a disappointment but they do have two dump positions at the entrance to the park. The cleaning and maintenance activities at the part need to be stepped up several notches. The boardwalk to the beach is nearing the end of its life and the wood badly needs to be replaced. The rest rooms are dirty and, although they are "serviced" twice daily, they are never actually cleaned. At best, wet mops are used to push dirt around the floor and something is sprayed into the sinks. The beach is absolutely beautiful and there are miles of hiking paths as well as a nice nature center across Shore Drive that has some nice information and adventure challenges for the children. Overall, it's a worthwhile park that needs some improvements.
