George Washington NF Dispersed on Coal Road

George Washington National Forest rolls through this stretch of the Shenandoah highlands at around 1,700 feet, where Coal Road traces a creek corridor through mixed hardwood forest. Multiple pull-offs line the road, the better ones set back from the gravel with a few trees for separation and fire rings already established — the pin sits steps from Johns Run.
