Overview

Floyd / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA Holiday (also known as Floyd Family Campground) is a privately operated, year-round campground set on 200 acres of rolling fields and woodlands in Floyd County, Virginia. Located approximately 6 miles from downtown Floyd and just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, it serves as a base camp for outdoor recreation and Appalachian cultural experiences. The property operates as a KOA Holiday franchise, offering RV sites, tent sites, and cabin accommodations.

Facilities

RV sites include full hookups with water, 30/50-amp electric, and sewer; partial hookup (water/electric) and dry sites are also available, with pull-through and back-in configurations accommodating RVs up to approximately 100 feet. Tent sites feature fire rings and picnic tables. Cabins range from basic bunkhouses to deluxe units with full kitchens and bathrooms. On-site amenities include heated bathhouses with showers and restrooms, a camp store (daily 2–6 pm), laundry, a dump station near the entrance, Wi-Fi, firewood sales, and a Kamp K9 dog park. A pavilion is available for group use.

Recreation

The 200-acre property includes an extensive network of on-site hiking and mountain biking trails with directional signage and trail maps available at the camp store. A 9-hole disc golf course is also available. The campground is minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, providing access to scenic drives, overlooks, and Mabry Mill.

Downtown Floyd hosts the Friday Night Jamboree at the Floyd Country Store, local galleries, and farm-based breweries. The annual FloydFest music and arts festival draws visitors to the area each summer.
