About

National Forest

This campground is located on the far side of the river from Highway 39. The entrance is the same as Upper Meadows, but instead of turning left, stay on the road, cross the bridge and turn to the right at the top of the hill. This campground is one of the most spacious with the individual sites quite far apart. The grass is usually tall and thick. This campground has firewood available to purchase from the on-site Campground Host. Popular local recreation activities include fishing, hiking, swimming and tubing down the South Fork Ogden River (a life jacket is required for all tubers). Causey Reservoir, a scenic mountain lake, is four miles east.

Great spot

Loved this place will definitely go back. Spacious and not too crowded. Lots of hiking spots!

Great Sites with Space between neighbors

While a little bit larger than its Upper Meadows twin it still sits on the south side of the river away from the road and therefore offers a bit of natural tranquility.  The campground is about half the size of the Perception Park Compound but will hold maybe 1/6 of the people so you'll have lots of distance between your neighbors.  You can choose from 17 single sites or 6 double sites @ 23$ and 46$ respectively.  Like the other campgrounds in the canyon the amenities are fairly primitive with fire rings and picnic tables at each site with drinking water spigots and vault toilets scattered throughout the playground.

For fun things to do in the area there is Causey Reservoir which is only a few miles up canyon!  It is a wonderful spot to kayak, canoe, or SUP around and also to access the cliffs for some deep water solo climbing!

Great Tent Sites

Great tent sites, large & clean. Campground hosts take pride & keep everything tidy. Neighbors can be noisy during quiet hours, but that is no fault other than immature college kids.
