Good. There are trees and mountains, lakes ,and trails.
The campsites are level and easy to get to. Most face the two stocked lakes. Near lake city and all the fun activities that the area has to offer. Wildlife, trails, and 4 wheeling. Fishing on site or go ask Dan at his fly shop for nearby streams and lake. Bathrooms and laundry were clean. There are cabins but did not see inside.
Beautiful setting, lots of amenities, lots of neighbors
This campground is in a beautiful area. The drive up and the scenery is amazing. There are two beautiful lakes you can fish in. There’s a little playground, a little pavilion with cooking area, fish cleaning station, laundry, and a gift shop. The bathrooms, which included showers, were remarkably clean. Aside from the views, I was most impressed with how well kept everything was. They have spots for big trailers, tents, and cabins. The whole are is very OHV friendly.
The negative for us was that the spots were pretty close together. This is not a secluded experience. If you’re looking for solitude this isn’t the place for you. Our spot was right by the lake, which was nice, but also right next to other campers, which was not as nice.
Overall we really enjoyed it and will probably visit again.

Mountains Majesty!
We stayed in this beautiful campground over the 4th of July weekend. We could not get the rv spot we wanted in the more secluded lake view sites as they reserve out more than a year in advance. The more compact rv sites were fine. We met some very friendly fellow campers and everyone was very courteous and considerate. This quiet campground sits on two small fishing lakes surrounded by beautiful mountains. It is about nine miles outside of Lake City and you can ride your ATV right out of the campground into town or up into the mountains via the Alpine Loop. We pre-booked our site for next year to make sure we had a great spot. We saw abundant wildlife, including an American bald eagle, deer, moose and lots of curious chipmunks. This is an amazing place to experience Colorado!
