Overview
Forkland Campground is located in a beautiful wooded area on the northern shore of Demopolis Lake, the largest lake on the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway. Demopolis Lake offers 10,000 acres of water to explore and serves as a quiet and convenient retreat from the two nearby cities of Demopolis and Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Recreation
Fishing is the most popular activity on the waterway. Whether fishing by boat or along the bank of the park, anglers can find bass, crappie, bream, catfish and other species. Day-use visitors and campers alike can enjoy a boat ramp and hiking trail at the campground, both of which are located across from the gatehouse. The trail has scenic overlooks of McConnico Creek and the Black Warrior River.

The campground is in a comfortable setting, with 42 campsites along the lakeshore. All sites come equipped with water hookups. Families with children enjoy the state-of-the-art playground and the convenience of showers, and picnic areas. Large groups can reserve a picnic shelter for day use that can accommodate up to 50 people.

Nice Place
Nice little quiet place. Camp hosts are very nice and helpful. Electric and water at site with dump on property. If you’re interested in fishing it right on the water and I hear it’s good fishing.
Over all, great camp
The camp was quiet, restrooms clean, camp host very nice. Unfortunately the laundry wasn't working on our visit. Water and electric on or spot. Dump station by the bathhouse. After 10 pm the gates are locked up. So if you need to leave you have to contact the camp host.
Forkland Campground
I originally was going to stay at Chickasaw State Park but that was a no go so I Googled the next closest Campground which brought me here. The park host, Leigh, was very helpful and polite. The bathrooms were the best I've seen in a long time. The spot she put me in was amazing. It was so peaceful, quiet and serene.
Beautiful quiet park
Quiet park with fairly level spaces most of which are on the water. Electric and water only with a dump station in the center of the park. One thing to be aware of is that the 4" sewer plug is NOT a sewer connection
Hideaway beauty!
What can I say about this beautiful place. The camp host and workers are amazing. Bathroom/shower house clean as can be. The nature trail was very calming and enjoyable. A must stop while in BAMA.

Great
Great sites level and clean, great host on site. Perfect place to start our new life in camper.
Nice wooded campground
This was a pretty cool campground tucked away in the woods. Our site was shady most of the day and well spaced from other sites. Some sites have stairs to the water, to a beach big enough for one person to fish or to tie up a jon boat.
There is no firewood for sale here. The bathrooms were very clean and a laundry room (closed due to COVID). Lots of fireflies and some mean mosquitoes. Early in the morning you can see some huge paddlefish jumping in the water.
30 and 50 amp power, water hookup (be sure to have a pressure regulator) and the dump station is in the middle of the campground.
Great Experience
Had a great time on our trip and the campground was very well kept! Sites are nice and mostly water front and bathhouse was very clean!
Beautiful sites and surroundings
Stayed 2 nights on a beautiful site overlooking the lake. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Close to home
This is the first time I have stayed at the Army Corps of Engineers park in Forkland. It is near my home so I had been there multiple times but never stayed. It is nice and quiet with many options for activities. Nature/bird trail, playgrounds for the kids, and a boat landing with quick access to the Tombigbee and Black Warrior rivers. There are some great sites right on the water. All the amenities needed at a campground.
Quiet
First time here found my new home away from home.
GORGEOUS!
This area was absolutely gorgeous. We took a trip to Alabama a few summers ago to visit family, and decided to do some camping and hiking before we went home. The drive was beautiful. The campground itself is located right next to a lake- Demopolis Lake. We later learned that this lake is actually one of the largest lakes that is on the Black Warrior Tombigbee Waterway. Thought this was a cool fact. It was pretty hot, so having this lake was definitely great. There were tons of people out on the lake fishing, swimming, jet skiing and kayaking. There is a boat ramp too. There is also some really great hiking nearby, which we enjoyed in the morning. The hike we did had some amazing views of the Black Warrior River and McConnico Creek. Nothing like getting to the top of a hike and seeing lakes beneath you! The campground was great, and had everything we needed. There were about 40 campsites total, all set up with water hookups. There is a playground onsite, picnic table area, showers, and laundry! Most campgrounds don't off shower and laundry- so this would be a great place to visit if you plan to stay a few nights/weeks. Just FYI- there are gates which open at 6am and close at 10pm. Loved our stay here, and would definitely come back.
