Sulphur Springs Camp is a private campsite located in Bend, Texas with a number of camping options. Cabins: For the person who loves the outdoors but still likes some of the comforts of home, Sulphur Springs Camp, Inc. is the place to be. Our modern lodges are completely furnished. All lodges are air conditioned with full kitchens, restrooms, cooking utensils and linens. Reservations for these lodges are strongly recommended. Cabins range from two bed lodges which can accomodate up to six people, to five bed lodges which can accomodate up to fifteen people. Picnic tables and barbeque grills enhance your camping experience. Tents are not allowed at the cabins. Check in time for cabins is 3:00 PM, and check out time is 11:00 AM. RV Hookups: Many people today are R.V. enthusiasts. The camp has plenty of hookups located at the river's edge. These feature water and electricity with dump station, and may be rented on a daily, monthly, or yearly basis. Restrooms and public showers with hot and cold water are also located in the park area. Reservations are not required for an R.V. space, however, we will have plenty of room for you! Tents are not allowed in the R.V. area. Tent Camping: For the outdoorsmen who prefer to tent camp or to "rough it", this is the place! There are approximately three miles of river front that is accessible by a gravel road. Campsites are shaded by large native trees and high rock cliffs. This beautiful setting is what people are talking about when they talk about the "Great Outdoors". For the nature loving outdoorsmen, this is a bit of paradise on earth. Check out time for camping is 9:00 AM. Reservations are not required for campsites. Come early and pick your favorite spot.

The Best Camping Near Bend, Texas

Sulphur Springs camp is a great get away place if you want to put all electronics away but don't have the willpower. There is no cell service or Internet/wifi! All cabins have your basics - beds/ stove/fridge/bathroom/kitchen. All linens and dishes/cookware/linens and bath towels are provided . You are near Barefoot Camp and Colorado Bend State Park so you have plenty of things to keep you busy if you are adventurous. The camp gets its name from the natural sulphur springs at one end of the camp.

I do prefer staying here over staying at the state park. It's easy to drive down the road to the park from here. You can walk down the gravel road in the campground too for more hiking. Bring an RV, tent, or stay in a fishing cottage for a reasonable fee. A little run down, but comfy beds and full kitchens. The sulphur smell isn't too bad. Consider bringing a kayak if the water levels are right. Lots of cats at the front office. Owners can sometimes be a little grumpy. Just be patient.

This is the campground my family always uses when we go as a large group. It is so simple with easy access to the river and hiking.

Lots of level, grassy, shaded sites.

The front part is for rv hookups, with the back road (will need a higher clearance vehicle) for tent/car camping.  Lots of places to access the river.   They also have a pool, the springs, showers and a bathroom, as well as cabins.

Very Clean Fishing Camp

Beautiful scenery and easy access to the river. Roads are very rough though so make sure you have a high clearance vehicle.

Off grid fishing camp

This place is quiet and out of the way. Down in the canyon there is no cell service so you can break away from the modern world. Nestled right on the river, with a natural Sulphur Spring. A spring fed swimming pool cleaned weekly and cabins with all the amenities.

Regular Visitor

This campground is truly something special. The landscape is breathtaking, the trail leading back to the tent spots is definitely for those looking for something a little more challenging to get to, and the river is there for you to chill by to swim, fish, kayak, etc. There’s also a ton of wildlife. Saw some bald eagles, reptiles, fish, turtles, heard coyotes howling at night, and saw tracks of some larger animals. There’s some stores not too far away if you need things in a pinch. Colorado Bend State Park is right next door for those looking for some additional hikes and sights. And there’s several distilleries and vineyards in close proximity. I’ll definitely be coming back here.
