Best Dispersed Camping near Dorchester, SC
Francis Marion National Forest near Dorchester offers several primitive camping areas with varying conditions. Halfway Creek provides free dispersed camping with drive-in and walk-in access along the Palmetto Trail. The main site features camping options along a dirt loop road, in a large field, and in areas tucked among live oak trees. According to one visitor, "There are only a couple spots for an RV or Travel Trailer to park, but they are pull through along the side of the main loop."
