Description
Tucked inside the longleaf pine lowlands of Francis Marion National Forest in coastal South Carolina, this roadside dispersed area offers flat, level pull-outs on both sides of an unimproved forest road off Ackerman Road — one noticeably larger than the other. The surrounding FS road network has received recent maintenance, making it a practical base for biking and hiking in the forest. Cell signal is intermittent at best, and the bumpy initial turn onto Ackerman Road is worth anticipating.
