      Normandy Farms Campground

      Best Campground in the Northeast!

I can understand why this place is rated one of the best campgrounds in the country. This was my first time camping here with my own RV and it did not disappoint. Our site was spacious, and centrally located within the campground, they have all the amenities you can imagine living up to that “resort” title. Ranging from multiple pools, hot tubs, courts, pavilions, playgrounds, etc. the cell service was great, they offer WiFi, and much more. I love the store, it gives off that Great Wolf Lodge feel, and it has everything inside you may need. Including a little hidden café that surprisingly made good lattes. This place is massive, and I’ve never seen a campground that had as many million dollar RV’s in one place. That atmosphere is just great here. There is so much to do. It’s so big you need an e-bike just to get around. Resort-style campgrounds like this come at a steeper price compared to others, but in my opinion, Normandy was well worth the cost. We look forward to revisiting, often!

      Lovely and peaceful

We came in the day after Labor Day ~ after 280 rv’s checked out ~ so it may not have been as peaceful over the weekend, but I heard everyone had lots of fun. The grounds are beautiful!

      River Bend Campground

      Too close too old

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and they did seem have alot going on. It was Christmas in July. There was a live band and a few food trucks. The campsites are onto of each. Way too close for us. The roads that lead to the sites are way to narrow. I tow a 27ft travel trailer and my tires were off the road on both sides. The campsite itself was nice. No complaints there. Pool was gross. Mini golf was horrible. All the wood was rotted. We won't be back.

      Normandy Farms Campground

      Loud and crowded!

Know what you are getting... This is a family resort that charges$20/per night, per person, OVER the two people rate. It is loud, crowded, with golf carts and kids running around. It is a resort campground with pools, frisbee court and etc... This is not a quiet, restful place to stay to visit Boston and the surrounding area or to visit family in town. Entry is gated and controlled. Want to bring your college daughter back after dinner- forget it,$20 for her and$20 her friend, for 1-2 hour visit after 7:00 PM at night! When we return, we will stay at Spacious Skies CG or the state park. The cost and inconvenience is not worth it!

      Normandy Farms Campground

Repeat customer and I sure hope we can again!

We were here a couple years ago and told everyone we knew about it in the PNW never knowing if our big road trips would have us near Foxboro again. Imagine our surprise and delight when our quest to hit all the MLB parks showed Normandy as proximal to Fenway. Yahoo! Red Sox win and we get to be here again. Kids and adults alike love it. What’s not to love. It’s the kind of place summer camping trip memories are made of. 4 pools, fishing pond, lodge, trivia night, soccer, baseball, softball and frisbee golf and so much more. Full hook ups. Super long sites.

      Normandy Farms Campground

      Very Enjoyable 1 night stay

We enjoyed our tent site with a wooden lean-to. Overall very private and peaceful, however the only drawback is that people took frequent casual walks pass the area all day long. There's really no way around that.

We did not get a chance to enjoy the amenities, but they all looked nice and well thought out.

      We will return.

      Normandy Farms Campground

      Only one negative!!!

Absolutely beautiful. When we drove in we fell in love with the grounds!! We were in site B9. We have a 25” B+ and basically had to park sideways and use a lot of leveling blocks to get our rig level. As we walked around we spoke to others who had similar problems with the sites not being level. We recommend this campground but just be prepared and bring plenty of leveling blocks! The office did provide us with additional blocks to level so they were very accommodating.

      Normandy Farms Campground

      Our Favorite Campground

Normandy Farms is perfect. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is lovely. The sites are level, the bathrooms/showers are spotless with piped in music and hairdryers. It's one of the few campgrounds that really is a resort. This was our second visit and it just keeps getting better. They've added a huge covered area with a snack bar and a big TV over the fireplace next to the Recreation Lodge. It's not far from a park and ride area, so taking the train into Boston is easy.

    What to do

Trail riding access: The Preserve Club and Residences offers exceptional access to diverse outdoor activities. One visitor notes, "The Preserve Club and Residences is a members/owners only community which is New England's most amenity rich properties, in fact it may be the only place in the world that has such a diverse amount of outdoor offerings."

Explore woodland paths: At Wolf Den Campground in Mashamoquet Brook State Park, campers can access multiple trail systems directly from the camping area. A visitor shares, "Close to a small walking path and a larger intermediate hiking trail." The park includes historical features like an old mill and blacksmith shop that occasionally opens for weekend tours.

Fishing opportunities: Several campgrounds in the Rockville area provide fishing access. Mashamoquet Brook State Park features a small brook for fishing, while Pachaug State Forest also offers fishing opportunities alongside its extensive trail system for horses and hikers.

    What campers like

Well-maintained facilities: Normandy Farms Campground receives high marks for cleanliness and organization. One camper reports, "This campground is so well run I felt like I was in Disneyland's Frontier Land. They offer anything you could want. Spotlessly clean and wonderful employees."

Spacious campsites: At Mashamoquet Brook State Park, campers appreciate the layout of sites. A reviewer notes, "Very nice sized lots. Large open areas for kids and adults to play during day and star gaze at night." The parking pads are paved with fire rings, grills, and picnic tables at each site.

Natural setting: Horse campgrounds near Rockville, Rhode Island typically feature quiet surroundings and natural beauty. One visitor to Mashamoquet Brook State Park simply stated, "One of my all time favorite hikes," highlighting the appeal of the natural setting.

    What you should know

Reservation requirements: While LeGrand Reynolds requires advance bookings, Frog Hollow Horse Camp operates on a first-come, first-served basis. A visitor notes, "It's hard to find much information about this equestrian, first come, first serve campground in Connecticut's Pachaug State Forest."

Facility limitations: Equestrian campgrounds vary in amenity levels. Frog Hollow provides basic facilities with "composting toilets near the entrance. Water is available. There's space for your camping gear as well as a trailer and horseline."

Seasonal considerations: Wolf Den Campground operates from late May through early September. During hurricane season, management works to maintain accessibility. One camper observed after a storm, "The park was completely cleaned up from any damage or debris, all in great shape."

    Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Normandy Farms offers extensive programming for children. A family notes, "We were here a couple years ago and told everyone we knew about it... Kids and adults alike love it. What's not to love. It's the kind of place summer camping trip memories are made of. 4 pools, fishing pond, lodge, trivia night, soccer, baseball, softball and frisbee golf and so much more."

Budget accordingly: Premium amenities often come with higher costs. One visitor mentions, "It is a little on the pricey side, but has great amenities for campers with kids and pets... there was always plenty to do. Will come again at children's request."

Seasonal activities: Some campgrounds offer special event weekends. A visitor shared, "We stayed here for a few nights when they celebrated Halloween. It is super easy to get around. They had tons of festive activities."

    Tips from RVers

Site selection guidance: When seeking equestrian campgrounds near Rockville with RV access, research site specifications beforehand. At Mashamoquet Brook State Park, a camper advises, "Most sites are relatively short level pads, with little or no shade, but very pleasant. We picked site 33 for the best shade and longer pad."

Hookup availability: Site utilities vary among equestrian campgrounds. At Wolf Den Campground, note that "Site 20 is the only one with electric. The ones toward the back of the loop back up toward the woods and give you some more privacy."

Access considerations: Many horse campgrounds accommodate trailers but may have limitations for larger RVs. At Mashamoquet Brook State Park, campsite parking pads are paved, but some have overhanging branches that could interfere with taller vehicles.
