Small and quiet close to nearby attractions

Pros: This campsite is small (a handful of spots) mostly quiet near a river. There is a nearby public dock for fishing. Close (driving <15 minutes) to dunes, hiking, ocean and town. So much to do along the nearby coast! Saw: sea lions, bald eagles, whales just off shore and the kids loved the great tide pool areas a little north of Florence!

Cons: The camp is very near the highway, though not a busy one--you can hear cars. Several of the spots were open and roomy, ours was not (#7) and had little space for anything other than the tent. Pit toilets means no handwashing-- though the TP was well stocked for most of our three days. There are several spigots for running water that have signs posted for "no dishwashing" which was puzzling.

Overall, small camp without bells and whistles (unlike the ginormous Honeyman State Park across the highway) but feels private/uncrowded. Not much to do in camp (if that's important to you or if you have small kids) but so close to lots of nearby attractions.

That's about it! Thanks Tyee Campground, we enjoyed our stay!
