 Indian Ford Campground can accommodate RV, trailer or tent-campers however water and electric hookups are not available. This is a no water facility so campers will need to bring their own supply. All sites are equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring with grill and the campground has vault toilets available.

 Nestled in the Deschutes Forest with a pleasant, small spring running through the center of this facility, Indian Ford Campground is a great shady family spot with short hikes all around. 
## Nearby Attractions

 The close proximity to the town of Sisters offers many additional recreation opportunities including the nearby Sisters Wilderness Trails. Lava Lands Visitor Center in nearby Bend, Oregon, and the unique geological landscape of Newberry National Volcanic Monument draw visitors to the region as well. It is a great starting point for visitors to learn about the diverse landscape and history of the area through interpretive programs and exhibits. Visitors can also explore the Lava River Cave, located in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. At 5,211 feet in length, the northwest section of the cave is the longest continuous lava tube in Oregon.

Sisters

The Best Camping Near Sisters, Oregon

Located between sisters and bend this campground is surrounded by beautiful mountains and trails. We hiked black butte during this trip and were amazed at how social the chipmunks were once we reached the top where the lookout is. Campground was clean and minimal. 

Woodsy camping

I have a love/hate relationship with this campground. On the positive side, it's very close to the cute little town of Sisters, Oregon. It's a good size (not too big, not too small). Decent sized sites. Nice trees. And it's a great deal price-wise.

  

On the other hand, there's pretty much nothing to do at this campground, and it's within Frisbee distance of the major highway that runs through here. So while not right on the highway, it's close enough to hear noise most of the night.

  

Overall, unless you need a place right next to Sisters or want to use this as a base camp to save money and head elsewhere, you're better off at other spots nearby.

Great Location, Horrible Location

Indian ford campsite is a quaint, no frills, vault toilet campground six miles west of sisters, nestled amongst Ponderosa pines and right next to trails to the Metolius River and Black Butte.  

  

Sites are large with fire pits and picnic tables. The drawback is that it’s very close to Highway 20, so you hear road traffic frequently.  

  

Bring your own water. Super cheap, only $12, with $2 extra on holidays. Also, only open seasonally. In the Deschutes National Forest.

No-frills, cheap campground near Sisters, Oregon

Beautiful place

Assuming you are not looking for a quite, peaceful, experience away from road noise, this is a great campground. But as noted by others, it is right off of the highway, so you will hear some of that noise. As long as you know that going in, and for the right scenario, this still makes for a great base camp for lots of adventures in and around Sisters.  
  
Or in my case, coming to Central Oregon for an extended weekend of activities, I like to have a guaranteed spot to camp that first night as it's about 5.5 hour drive for me, and I don't want to have to look for dispersed camping in unfamiliar areas while tired. After dinner and a beer at Three Creeks Brewing just down the road in Sisters, being able to pull up to a reserved spot was ideal. Clean, quite campground (besides the hwy noise), with large sites.  
  
Again, it was perfect for my use case. One night after a long drive, before exploring dispersed camping opportunities the rest of my visit.  
(Note: my stay was July of 2023. Really hot that summer, the shade from the trees were a big relief.)

More good than bad...

Extremely Pleasant. Close to Sisters, Camp Sherman and Suttle Lake. 

Early Season Indian Ford

Lots of open sites, but a little pricey.   $21 a night! No water. They do have an outhouse and a dumpster for trash. Bring your own TP!
