Beautiful area.  Peaceful.  Love the amenities.  There is even an enclosed area for your dogs to run in.

We just stopped here for the night, but it’s a pretty place to spend time out on the lake. Also neat for history buffs, since this was an important site on the Oregon trail. The campground is pretty large and modern-ish but basic, the ranger programs stand out as special. We’d return and spend more time.

Little park along the highway 

The park is large and the sites are well spaced. You can walk down the long grass to the river and down steps to the water. Or just sit around camp and squirrel watch! Perfect place to stay if you want to start the next day by cruising right past Boise! It's the only real oasis for miles around.

Very pleasant place to camp

Living in Idaho near the border of Idaho, I was looking for a great catfishing spot on the Snake River. I found this campground along the Snake just on the other side of the border - eastern Oregon. The campgrounds are AWESOME!!! The have all the amenities for RV camping. They do have tent camping sites as well. There is some great history of the area and we were appreciative of how the State Park system displayed it. Great fishing for the shore angler as well as boat anglers. I fished from my kayak and caught crappie and catfish as well as some smallmouth bass. I would definitely camp here again. They do have a dump station for RVs as well as restrooms. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table.

A well maintained beautiful state park on the river. It has full amenities. All the spots are flat with a paved spot for our trailer.

Easy camping with a nice little beach area. Kids enjoyed the historical fearures. Adults enjoyed the historical accounts of the area.

Great for kids

It is very hot there so get a campground with at least one big tree, we hung out under our tree. The camp rangers were nice and helpful. They had a ice machine , I was grateful for that. In some areas the grass is dry so take a tarp to put under your tent. The reservoir was huge. It was muddy in some spots but once you get out there its clean , just take water shoes. There is a lot of mosquito so take lot of bug spray but that was the only thing that was bad.

Spacious and clean

This is a site with a blend of tent, drive in, and full hook up sites. Easy access to trailheads and the host is cool with plenty of great suggestions for exploring off the usual places. There are two main sections of about 30 sites each with reserved and walk up sites. The camp is super busy on weekends but great mid week. The hike to the confluence is good and goes deep into some canopy growth sections that are perfect. The trail ran along the river with ample opportunity to actually rest and soak your feet or do some earthing. The team is super cool an evening and morning yet wam days bordering on hot. A magical little spot, $23 bucks for a camper van spot. A bargain at three times the price.

Bliss in Oregon

As hard as they tried, it seemed park staff could not keep enough water on the campground grass to keep it green.  It was 100+ both nights we were there.  Our RV A/C never turned off!  The water level was so low, the river didn’t even look inviting.  The only folks we ever saw were park staff and the poor soles that were tent camping.  RVers were all inside with AC.
We’d consider staying here again... at a cooler time... for one night while passing through.  
No AT&amp;T service.  
We saw snakes, lizards, squirrels, rabbits, frogs, an owl, and lots of geese out on the water.

HellaHot and Dry at end of July!!

This was a welcome respite for a weary traveler. The sites and facilities were clean and spacious. The views of the Snake River were fantastic and the interpretive Oregon Trail exhibit is interesting. 
The ONLY drawback is a bit of highway noise, as the campground is just a few hundred feet from I84, but, hey, that’s also why it was so convenient!

Spent one night here in our camper and had a great time. Outstanding views of the mountains and Snake River. Great Oregon State Park staff, very clean campground and facilities. Would definitely go back again.

Love this place, close to home. Not a lot to do but boat and fish, but  that is our liking.

Great place

Though not free like the dispersed camping the dog and I were doing the days before this, it was a treat to have warm showers, bathrooms, a fenced dog exercise area, the security of other campers, and a picnic table to cook on.
I stayed in a more "isolated" campsite with a tree screen from the other sites, because my dog is very protective. But it looked like there were great view sites further in the campgrounds, for those who don't need the privacy.
There was easy river access from the camp and you can hear the coyotes yipping in the morning.

A treat after dispersed camping

This is a very nice campground along the Snake River. There are lots of trees, lots of grass and shade. Places to go fishing as well.  Perfect spot for a weekend camping trip.

Farewell bend is on the Snake River and has plenty Oregon Trail history to boot. It has shade trees, which is special for the area. Not much privacy. It has good bathrooms, water access, and nice views of the surrounding hills. It has a huge day-use area with lots of picnic tables near the water.

History, water, and an easy stop off the highway

Farewell bend is a day use state park and campground located near Huntington Oregon and nestled on the Snake River. 

The park is a dry desert setting with yellowing grasses, tall spiny trees and sand dunes. The snake river is a deep emerald green flowing with foam from the upriver reservoir. 

The campground has three large loops that can accommodate the largest of personal busses down to the classic sleeping bag. There are electric and water connections, a sewer dump and a boat launch. There are a couple of rentable waterfront cabins available on C-loop. 

Many fisherman come here to enjoy the well stocked waters, keep an eye out for the other river wildlife commonly seen, rattle snakes. Other water sports are welcome here, boating and waterskiing happens all day long. The dunes across the river are a popular off-road and motorized fun location. 

The river is pretty much inaccessible from the campgrounds, the day use area allows for access to the rocky beach, but the waters edge is not clean sadly, polluted with litter and river foam. 

The park is a very warm and sunny Oregon escape with little to no cellular service. 

Riverside desert experience

Nice spacious park with privacy and open areas.  Paved road and pads, mostly level. Nice hosts.  Some hi way noise, not to bad. Easy in/out.


Nice stop

Nice CG in NE Oregon on the Snake River. Would be so much nicer if they watered the grass. Showers were cold. So many flies. Never did figure out why? Easy in and out.

We stayed here a night in our RV on the way through during Cycle Oregon. It's a nice campground in a scenic spot. I appreciated all the history displays regarding the Oregon trail that passed right through there.

This is a great state park located just off I-84.  It's far enough away from the interstate so you don't hear the noise of the traffic.  Its a large campground with some spots over looking Brown Lee reservoir.  The water level was very low but in the spring the boat ramp would be accessible.  I travel through this area frequently and will use it again as a pit stop if needed.  I visited at the end of summer so the weather was pleasant, but this area can get very hot in the summer and there wasn't that much shade.

This campground near the Idaho/Oregon border is your typical State Park. The sites are wide open with little privacy though there are some larger trees with the park. We had a site with water &amp; electricity and there is a dump station. They also have sink/dishwashing water dump stations throughout (typical of Oregon State parks). There are separate single person showers and the restrooms were pretty clean. We only stayed 1 night passing through.

Stayed early Spring and much of the campground was still closed. However, catfish loop was open and there was plenty of space. We pulled in late and found a spot right away. We would have used a tent spot since we didn't need water or power but it wasn't as easy to find. The spot we chose had both water and electric hookups. There was a public bathroom nearby and spectacular river views.

We spent one hellaciously windy night here. I'm sure it's great when it's not windy. Nice views, nice moon-rise in the evening. All was great until around sunset when the winds kicked up. Tough with a tent. But, that's the way it is in the West. enjoyed walking near the river with the dog though. Otherwise peaceful evening.

the state park, in eastern oregon. it is nice. been there twice. camp hosts lovely. a breeze blew in with a few sprinkles. some fish for catfish at night. i didn’t. maybe next time.

Better for boaters or fishers. We got eaten alive. Hosts were really sweet. Spots were larger and there was hardly any campers mid week.

Basic off the highway lots of bugs

Campground maintenance lacking TLC.   Sites are generally dirt, pathways not maintained,  open areas not mowed, showers are dirty and water is luke warm.    Camp hosts are nice.  We were going to stay 2 nights, but opted to move on after 1 night.

First time out

We have been here twice in the last two years. 

Last year - no shade on our site, and Temps were over 100 degrees. No where for the kids to swim in the lake. It was miserable for the entire weekend. 

This year - scouted sites and had some shade at least. Still no swimming areas, but the ranger allowed the kids to play in the sprinklers. 

Morale - plan ahead with this campground, espically if you have kids.  This is a boaters campground, and amenities are geared towards watercraft, not people. 

Meh at best 

Overall a good park to stay. It was pretty dry when we went. Not a whole lot to do around there at this time of year but good stopping place for a nite or two during the summer months. The sites in "B-Loop" are kinda tight for lg. rigs if "backing in"... We have a 40' 5th wheel... Double ck. your site before booking... Bushes are nice but can hinder backing in... Scratched the side of our truck and rv... The "Staff" is wonderful! Very friendly and helpful!! Place is kept real clean! Hats off to them All!\*\*Note to Park\*\*\*.... If you could repaint the "One Way Arrows" on the ground this would prevent people from pulling their rigs in the "wrong" way and blocking traffic or causing a jam!!

Nice but kinda tight!

Large campground in a grassy area with scattered trees. Fairly open with sites close together, but some sites have hedges in between. The campground was about half filled during our weekday stop.

User Friendly Campground

Since we are car camping road noise can be an issue but not here. Very quiet. Nice area to walk in. Fishing and boat launch available. There are several areas so people are spread out

My only complaint is that you can’t reserve tent sites in advance. Otherwise it is quiet and has some good places to stretch your legs. On the snake River which is nice. 

Great car camping site

Close to the hwy (which does mean some noise), but very handy if you just need a place to pull in. The staff were very friendly. The sites were situated well. The lake however was very low, so not much to see there. The views around the park were nice. 

Good location for a stop over

Very nice park and sites are pretty well spaced. But from the start walking my dog around the road way loop he couldn't walk more than a few steps before getting another goat head sticker in his paw. I regularly pulled 20 or more out of my shoes

Scenic Campground!

We've seen this campground from afar while traveling on I-84 through Oregon.  Decided to make it our first stopover on our fall road trip.

Peaceful campground on the Snake River and quiet in late September, mid-week.  Worked well for us.  Water &amp; Electric allowed us to travel light our first day.  We'd stay again.

Convenient for an overnight

I like this campground, it's clean, quiet and peaceful though close to the freeway. Shower and restrooms are clean. Close to the water as well.

Nice and Quiet

We planned to stop here on a let of our trip and found the park closed. Their website explains that there is an issue with the water system. Check their website before heading out there. 

Campground closed as of 7/24/24 

We have stayed many times and loved it.  But now the place had about seven campers. Most sites had reserved stickers on them . The few remaining had signs say check on line.  Our cellular service was too weak to check on line sadly.  All the best riverfront sites over by the huts said reserved which I believe translates to out of service. There's normally electricity, water and a picnic table at these sites. A fire swept by the boundary of the park and partly through it to the river.

Farewell bend campground

Only the Brownlee loop was open in mid-March. There were plenty of sites to choose from with great views of the river. The water was of at sites, but the sites and bathrooms were good. 

Early Spring at Farewell Bend

Conveniently located off the highway if you are traveling. 

The spots are pretty close together, A and C loops are very open with no privacy. The B loop has some trees and bushes between the sites which makes it a little more inviting. The A loop is the closest to the road.

We had reserved a spot in C loop with a view of the water but it was so windy when we got there the site was not very comfortable. The camp host graciously let us move up to B loop, since it wasn’t very busy mid-week. Thank goodness we did, it was the windiest night I’ve ever experienced camping. 

Sites have electric and water. They have dishwashing water waste stations conveniently thought the campground. The showers are free, had one cold because the water would not warm up. But the men’s shower room had warm showers after a bit of time to heat up.

The bathrooms and showers were clean.

Windy!

As usual another great Oregon State Campground. Appears to be well maintained and clean plus right on the Snake River.

Snake 

Well-kept state park. No playground for kids. Dog park. Very quiet. Right on the highway but it’s not loud at all. Very many mosquitos, like swarms of them. Site was very flat and easy to park our 23’ camper. Small trails good enough for a stroll but not long enough for a hike.
