Ponderosa-country forest south of Sisters, the Brooks Scanlon Logging Road (NF 1605) corridor in Deschutes National Forest opens onto a long stretch of undesignated pullouts and flat clearings — more than enough room to spread out and find a quiet spot away from neighbors. The entrance off the main road has a significant dip and low branches that rule out larger rigs, so high-clearance vehicles and smaller campers are better suited here. Cell signal reaches the area.
