Historic Route 66 Picnic Area — Caddo-Wichita-Delaware WMA

A forgotten slice of Route 66 corridor history sits just off I-40 near Bridgeport, Oklahoma — a maintained picnic ground with eight tables, four sheltered by corrugated metal roofs, set on open grassy terrain at the edge of the Canadian River plains. The paved loop and level ground accommodate rigs of all sizes, though the grass carries burrs year-round that will find shoes and paws alike. Some highway noise carries from I-40, but it tends to fade into background white noise after dark.
