With full hookups available from May through October, Larimore Dam Recreation Area Campground operates as a county-managed facility in Grand Forks County. The campground provides electric, water, and sewer connections along with restrooms, showers, and a dump station for RV campers. Reservations can be made in advance and pets are welcome on-site.
Most sites sit in open areas with limited shade, which one camper noted could become uncomfortably hot during North Dakota's humid summer months. The recreation area includes an arboretum and walking trails, plus access to a sandy swimming beach on the reservoir that visiting campers have praised. For shaded camping alternatives, Turtle River State Park Campground sits five miles east.
