Upper Creek Dispersed — Pisgah NF (FS 982)

Pisgah National Forest's Upper Creek corridor offers a handful of informal creekside pullouts along FS 982, tucked into the hollows below Jonas Ridge with little road noise and the sound of moving water underfoot. Several spots sit directly on the bank — fire rings are in place, and the creek runs deep enough to wade in warm months. Cell service drops off on the approach and stays out; the trade-off is genuine quiet in a heavily wooded mountain setting.
