Pinnacle Overlook Dispersed — Pisgah NF

The hardwood ridgeline of Pisgah National Forest near the summit of Pinnacle holds this pull-off loop directly across from a scenic overlook on forest road 1238 — one of the better elevated vantage points in this stretch of the Blue Ridge. The spot is tight, rooted, and unlevel, ringed by trees well-suited for hammocks and anchored by a stone fire ring; small tents can fit on the slope, and the trees provide canopy though not seclusion from the road. A nearby trailhead makes it a natural base for day hikes into the surrounding forest.
