With established sites managed by New Mexico State Parks, Quail Run provides developed camping at Elephant Butte Lake. The campground features designated sites with basic amenities and maintains year-round access for RVs and tent campers. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with restroom facilities available throughout the area.

Located within the state park system, campers have direct access to the lake for boating and fishing activities. The campground sits on higher ground above the shoreline, offering views across the water toward surrounding desert hills. For lake access camping, Lions Beach Campground — Elephant Butte Lake State Park provides beachfront sites three miles south.
