BLM Dispersed near Carlsbad Caverns — Whites City Area

Open BLM high-desert terrain above the Chihuahuan Desert scrubland east of Carlsbad Caverns National Park hosts this exposed turnaround at the end of a rocky dirt track that demands 4WD and high clearance on the uphill approach. Two rock fire rings anchor either end of a loop with wide panoramic views — and enough wind to remind you there's nothing between you and the horizon. Cell signal is strong despite the remote feel, and coyotes carry across from the park after dark.
