Description
At roughly 5,500 feet in the heart of the Great Basin, this BLM rest area along US 50 — Nevada's "Loneliest Highway" — sits in open high-desert terrain just steps from Cold Springs Station, a Pony Express and transcontinental telegraph site dating to 1860. Despite its highway-side location, traffic is sparse enough that nights here are genuinely quiet, with wide mountain views over the surrounding sagebrush flats. Parking is paved on one side and dirt on the other, with vault toilets on-site and room for large rigs to maneuver.
