Description
Open BLM desert just north of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation boundary, this spread of flat scrubland is anchored by a cluster of tufa formations — the same ancient calcium-carbonate structures found at Mono Lake — that provide natural screening from Highway 447 and a striking backdrop for camp. Multiple isolated spots fan out across the wide terrain, with plenty of room for rigs of any size including large fifth-wheels and trailer combos. The unsigned dirt turnoff sits just past the reservation exit sign heading north on Hwy 447; the surface is firm in dry conditions but warrants care after rain.
