About a mile off the highway, Stillwater River sits within Stillwater State Forest along a stretch of river with deep pools. The access road is narrow and requires high clearance, making it best suited to trucks, vans, tents, and trailers no longer than 13 feet. Three fire rings, a vault toilet, and a picnic table are on-site. Humidity runs high in this area, so expect heavy dew overnight. Bring extra time in the morning to dry gear before packing up.

Quiet and Forested

Arrived in the dark so it was a little tricky to pick out the campsites, but we found a great site with plenty of space to setup 5 tents. Camped on a Sunday night and didn’t hear much noise from the road which doesn’t seem to get too much traffic. It felt surprisingly humid in this area and it took a bit to dry the tents off in the morning from all the dew. Overall, it’s a great spot to spent the night while traveling in the area.

Beautiful Riverside Rustic

Just about a mile from the highway, this site is right on the river with some nice deep pools. There are three separate fire rings with a vault toilet and picnic table. It's a short drive in but more suitable for truck camping, van, tent camping or very small trailer like 13' max due to narrow track and limited maneuvering area. High clearance required!
