## Overview

 The Many Glacier Campground is located on the east side of Glacier National Park, at an elevation of approximately 4,500 feet. The campground is located about 22 miles from the town of St. Mary and the east entrance to Glacier National Park. Babb, Montana, is the closest community to the Many Glacier Campground and is located approximately 12 miles east of the campground. Babb has a general store, gas station, several restaurants and an U.S. Post Office. Cell phone coverage is not available in the campground. However, limited coverage is available in Babb. All sites require a reservation. Most sites have a 6-month booking window with a good handful having a 4-day booking window. ## Recreation

 Many Glacier Campground is located on the east side of the Continental Divide, and has excellent trails available for day hiking and overnight backpacking. Trailheads start at a higher elevation than those on the west side of the park, resulting in a shorter ascent to reach scenic vistas. Trails traverse areas frequented by grizzly and black bears, so take these safety precautions -- hike in groups, make lots of noise to avoid surprise encounters and carry bear pepper spray (know how to use it).
## Facilities

 Potable water at shared spigots is available throughout the campground. Restroom facilities provide flush toilets and sinks with cold running water. Camper utility sinks are available to dispose of gray water. Each campsite has a picnic table. The campground is located in a forested area so most campsites have some shade. Some sites are \"generator free\" for a more quiet camping experience. Other sites have limited hours for generator use. Within walking distance of the campground is the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, a concession facility with a restaurant, camp store, gift shop, limited groceries, and coin operated showers. Please read the individual site descriptions carefully to ensure your vehicle and camping equipment (including RVs) will be accommodated in the campsite. Most campsites and driveways are very small and will not accommodate towed units over 21 feet. A limited number of sites can accommodate towed units 26 to 30 feet. Many campsites will not accommodate camper \"slide-outs\". If you must use slide-outs, please make a reservation at St. Mary Campground, located 22 miles from Many Glacier and 1/2 mile along the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
## Natural Features

 Many Glacier Campground is situated in a mature Douglas fir, lodgepole pine and quaking aspen forest. Vegetation is dense and provides partial shade for almost all campsites. Occasional strong wind gusts occur, however, with tree cover, most sites have some protection from the weather. Nearby natural features include Swiftcurrent Creek and Lake, and mountain views of Altyn, Henkel, Wilber, Grinnell Point, Allen and Wynn.

The Best Camping Near Siyeh Bend, Montana

It's a very nice campground but there is a lot of people. The bathrooms are clean and there is a room to get rid of waste water for dishes. I really enjoyed my stay. It's nice and close to a lot of hikes so it's very convenient.

Nice campground 

This is on the dry side of the continental divide and you can certainly feel it!  Beautiful though, albeit further away from the services that west Glacier has to offer.  This is an easy "base camp" for exploring a quieter side of the park, as well as the Indian Reservation!

Quiet

Great sites with lots of different options. I prefer then there are spaces that are too small for RVs and these sites have those options along with generator free areas. Some sites are small but you should be out exploring the park so it should be fine. 
There are some reservable sites and some first come first serve which are also great if you are trying to explore a bunch of different sections of the park.
Great base camp area for some amazing hikes.
They had dry flat areas for the tent, clean bathrooms, and potable water.
You're also near the "swiftcurrent Motor Inn" if you happen to forget any supplies and you should definitely take a peak at the Many Glaciers Hotel and do a boat tour of rent one to explore on your own.

Lots of options for all kinds of camping

The campground and hotel is a beautiful spot in Glacier!! Picturesque for backdrops I can see it as a beautiful pick for weddings and photographs!! The hike is leisure and enjoyable! I recommend visiting this area of Glacier Montana!! 

Many Glacier

This campground is beautiful. It's quiet and shaded, and deer pass through the sites in the morning and evening; chipmunks skitter around all day. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and are very nice. It's very quiet and down a rough road, so there aren't many RV's. There are potable water taps and bear-proof food storage boxes scattered throughout; you don't have to go far for anything. Bring a rake. There are pinecones everywhere, and you'll want to clear them out before you set up your tent. We were there before the "season" was in full swing, so the showers and camp store weren't open yet. There are a couple of trail heads right there, and Redrock Falls (accessible through those trail heads) is a MUST see. As mentioned before, the road to this campground is really rough, but it is so worth it. Along that road, we saw a moose, four bears, and a wolf. We loved this campground.

Perfect

I have stayed at this campground 3 different times now. However, during the summer months this area of the park can get so busy and be booked so far out in advance that you can't get a campsite to save your life. If you are able to get one it is well worth it because of the proximity to some of the greatest trails in Glacier National Park. There are plenty of restrooms along with availability of almost anything else you need in the immediate area.

Been coming here since I was a baby and it's always a good experience. It is every increasingly busy, so we leave Kalispell at 4am to drive there and get a spot. Even getting there by 7am, there is already a line of people waiting to get spots! Very clean, excellent facilities though!

Great Family Spot!

so the sites were very close together. Plenty of trees. But your neighbors are close. Little river on half sites. Amenities were clean and well maintained. Was busy tho. And they had a loop closed for some reason. Lots of hiking trails very close. People everywhere tho. Would be a good spot in fall.

Busy but good. 

Great spot for amazing hikes off Swiftcurrent lake. Lots of camping but the spots are pretty foliage covered so you still feel secluded.

Secluded even with people

Best spot to access some really epic hikes! If you do what we did and pull in super late head over to the cabins, they usually have some or the park works will sometimes let you hang up a hammock on trees near their cabins.

Great Location for a lot of great hiking

I had a wonderful experience while staying at Many Glacier. It really enjoyed hiking a ton of the trails just outside of the campground. It was nice to be able to leave the car behind. We were able to hike from Logan Pass all the way back to Many Glacier one of the days. While it was a trek the views were breathtaking and one of my fondest memories.

Many Glacier is a wonderful escape from the busyness of Glacier National Park. It has wonderful access to trails just a short walk from the campground. You feel somewhat off the beaten path of Glacier yet still have wonderful access to beautiful views. The opportunity to see wildlife especially bears! It is a popular campground so the first come first serve sites go pretty fast.

This campground, as most in Glacier, gets very busy in the summer, so get there early! There are a couple particularly nice spots by the river, where the sound of water is calming all night. This side of Glacier is slightly less busy than the other side, because it's a longer drive and has longer hikes. This campground is within walking distance to both the Grinnell Glacier hike, and the Iceberg Lake hike. It has all the normal Glacier amenities like flush toilets, sinks, bear-proof dumpsters, picnic tables, fire rings, etc. You're close to your neighbors, but I've never had a problem with noise. The trees are close enough if you'd like to hammock.

Close to Hiking

This is by far my favorite place to camp because of the hikes that are nearby. Grinnell Glacier, Iceberg Lake, Cracker Lake, and Ptarmigan Tunnel are the favorites because of there turquoise waters. if you want a secluded spot go to Cracker Lake, there are only 3 spots out there and it’s insanely beautiful! Grinnell Glacier is an all day hike and same with most of the hikes there. Make sure to get your backcountry permit before heading out or the rangers will find and stop you. 

Many Glacier Sites

Awesome campground! $20 a night. Typically do more primitive grounds but this one was too good to pass up. Bathrooms, firepits, and hiking trails! We saw a young grizzly driving in and there were resident moose in the area which made the stay even better (be prepared!!). They do allow dogs in the grounds, just not on the trails (NPS rules). 

wildlife close by!

This campground is super close to many hikes in the park and is at the base of Swift Current and Fishercap lakes. The scenery is beautiful and a great place to see wildlife, including grizzly, mountain goats, etc. They provide bear lockers for your food and smelly stuff.

Immersed in Glacier Natl. Park 

This is a campground nestled in the best part of the park, but the park is crowded with people. Certainly not a quiet escape. But if you don’t mind the people and like the convenience, I certainly recommend.

Beautiful but busy

We camped here for two nights in early June and even though it was technically before the season we had to get there early to get a site. While setting up camp a mommy moose and her baby walked right thru camp, the ranger said she had been hanging out all week. The mounting goats come down and roam as well. The bathrooms were exceptionally well kept as well as the grounds. all the hiking around is amazing! I recommend doing the Grinnel Glacier Trail but get up early to avoid the crowds.

Glacier is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been! The campground in Many Glacier is quiet, rustic and clean.

Nice cabins and beautiful campground 

The most prestige area imaginal on the east side of Glacier National park. Wildlife galore from Grizzly bears to mountain goats and moose. Brenner trail head nearby. There is a beautiful lodge which offers boat trips on the lake for $20\. Nice camp store and breakfast is available in the connecting restaurant. This a must see area. Stay a few days. Lots of campers bring high power binoculars to watch tge Grizzly bears in the mountains.

Every campsite has a breath taking view

Great campground. Sites vary in size and have enough growth to give some privacy. Some sites run along a small creek. We were able to watch moose feeding from our site. Grounds were clean and well maintained. There is a store and restaurant close by in walking distance along with showers and laundry(you have to pay). Multille hiking trails, fishing and an abundance of wildlife. Make reservations or get there by 7am to line up, it's a popular place but well worth it. We will definate go back!

Amazing views all around

Absolutely loved staying at this campground! Visited in first week of June 2018 and had the very best experience! The campground was busy at this time but we were able to get a campsite without much difficulty. Parts of the campground weren’t even open yet for the year but that was no issue. We camped near the back of the campground close to the creek. We were able to experience a moose and her calf crossing through the campground to the creek just behind our campsite. Moose definitely hang out in the area and you are most likely to see them in the morning &amp; evening. The hike to Grinnell Glacier was my favorite part of our entire trip . It was magical with lots of trails to explore in the area. We weren’t able to go all of the way to the glacier due to snow still on the trail but it was still so great.


wildlife & great hiking!!

If you're coming to Glacier, make sure to camp here at least one night. It's very popular so make sure to plan ahead; we camped here in late September and every spot filled up. In the off-season, or at least when we were there, the water was turned off and only the vault toilets were available. If you're camping in that time of year, make sure to bring in your own water and firewood! Everything kind of shuts down by then. In the summer there are flush toilets and water spigots. The campground is perfectly situated for accessing some of the greatest hikes in the park. We crossed over Swiftcurrent Creek at the back of the site to begin the hike to Grinnell Glacier, one of the most scenic and stunning hikes I've ever been lucky enough to do.

Well-kept Campground Surrounded by Natural Beauty

We took a last minute trip to Glacier in early August. Stayed in Columbia Falls the night before we arrived, hoping to make it to the campground to snag a last minute sight. Arrived at Many Glacier about 8am. Confused about the reservation vs first come first served process. Apparently you must be waiting for a campsite at 5am to be part of the first come first served lotto. We found a spot that we thought was open, as there was nothing posted on the sight number. Unloaded and got set up just to have the ranger come around and tell us we had to leave. They happened to have a last minute cancellation in the reserved area and allowed up to drag our tent over there. She saved our whole trip!

Many Glacier is a great location. Bathrooms are clean and bright, water, bear lockers, and trash are easy to locate. We hiked,rode the boats, chatted with some great neighbors, and heard many tales of bears in the campground. We'll be back, with a bit more planning next time.

10/10 Beautiful scenery

The premier campsite in GNP! Not because the campground is great but because many glacier area is the premier park of the park and this campground has you in walking distance of everything. Lots of spots, many can be reserved through the parks service, some are first come and that has become a contact sport!! You now have to get in line prior to 6 am in order to get one of the spots that will vacate later.......that day. Fire pits, water and flush toilet in campground. Store, pay for showers and restaurant very close by. Stunning views and trails very close and wildlife abounds including moose (fishercap lake) and Griz. Look at the hills sides every evening but always have bearspray all the time on any trail.

This is it!!

This location fills up very quickly, very popular but they do allow reservations. There are trail access to some of the best day hikes in the park, including a hike to one of the park's largest glacier, Primitive camping is available for $10.00 per night.

Very crowed, lots of people 

When you stay at Many Glacier you are situated in the heart of the best hiking and wildlife viewing in the park. Grizzly sightings on the slopes nearby are an almost nightly occurrence. Sometimes the animals wander right through the campground. There are several trailheads that begin at the campground or within walking distance. While it is a popular and busy place (difficult to get a spot) it is still worth braving the crowds.

One of the best in GNP

This campground was very quiet and the sites had plenty of room. Bathrooms, water, trash, and recycling are spaced evenly. Sites 88-104 are located on the river &amp; are free of generators. If you stay at a site near or with a generator, you will have a problem with noise. Lots of shade is available, which is nice. Showers and laundry are behind the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn and token are available for sale in the store for shower and laundry. Showers were cleaned multiples times a day. Laundry has limited hours. One shower token gets you 8 minutes in the shower. 

  

Close to a lot of great hiking! There is a trail for everyone of every hiking level here, from backcountry to walking trails. The waterfalls are spectacular, and wildlife is everywhere you look. Because of the size of the park, it does not feel over-crowded.

  

Ranger tip: Secure a campsite early, reserve before 9 am!

Peaceful space!

Great camping spot.  Easy access to many popular hiking trails, clean, and walking distance to the Swiftcurrent camp store for food and beer supplies.  Lots of opportunities to view wildlife on this side of the park.  Saw moose and bears within a half mile walk.  A moose and calf visited the camp one evening.  Sites are mostly shaded, potable water and clean bathrooms.  Showers available at the Swiftcurrent lodge for about $4 for 8min shower.  

Only downside if you don’t have a reserved site, need to get in line early.  We got there at 4am and were not the first to get there.  Reserve site if possible, otherwise plan to get there no later than 4:30am during peak season to secure a site.  

Awesomeness 

Loved this campground and yes it is busy with tourist traffic on the nearby road, they park and then take off and hike but it was manageable being inside the campground. Great access to hikes like Iceberg Lake and Grinnell Glacier which are my favorites! Wildlife sightings almost everyday. Great amenities inside camp and showers, laundry, coffee &amp; shopping just a quick walk over to the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. The campground had some great shady spots, even some spots with the river right behind. The park rangers were very nice, there are strict rules to follow because of bears frequenting the camp but the rangers were still very pleasant to deal with. I can’t wait to visit again!

Nice campground

Spent two nights here after a long hike over Swiftcurrent pass. Our campground was clean and close to water source as well as the l bathroom. There were multiple bear boxes in close proximity. 

The campground sits under the multiple peaks within the many glacier area and offers spectacular animal spotting on the multiple beautiful mountains surround the many glacier area. One of the best things about this campground is it’s proximity to many great hikes. Particularly the Swiftcurrent pass hike is something not to miss. 



Relaxing quitet campground

July 13 - 16, 2019 Stunning Park. Site C144 had no electric or water but water was available in park. There were showers and flush toilets. A utility sink with hot water was available for washing dishes. There was a dump station. Verizon signal 4 bars. Sr. Lifetime discount rate was $11.50.  The free buses were a great way to see the park. Elevation 4,551 Red buses were very cramped and there was a charge also.

Glacier National Park

This spot is incredibly beautiful, surrounded by picturesque mountainscapes with glaciers visible from the campsites. The campground has a spacious and friendly vibe. We enjoyed walking to Many Glacier lodge where we hopped on a boat ride to a hike through the glaciers. While all of the campgrounds we saw and stayed in while visiting the national park were beautiful, some of them did not offer the overwhelming views that this one does, giving you a true sense of place. This is not just another campground- when I go back I will definitely be staying here again, for longer.

Fishcreek Campsite

This part of the park is gorgeous and we nabbed two nights last second due to a cancelation! You can walk to a river, hiking trails, a restaurant, a small store, and the ranger station. Short drive or small hike gets you to the hotel with it's nicer stores and many other trails. All the rangers and camp hosts were nice and informative. It helps to have camped with bear aware practices, but if not they will walk you through the process. There are no showers if you care about that, but when you have these views- who cares!

Many glacier is an essential stop when visiting glacier, and this campground made a great home base.

Amazing Area

This campground is great and with lots of walk-up campsites. There's a ton of trails right from the campground and it's close enough to St Mary and Two Medicine to make it your base to explore the East side of the park (way better than the West side IMHO). And there's public laundry right behind the camp store too! Shade varies from site to site, but overall pretty decent. You'll see wildlife wandering around too (I saw a least a couple of deer and a moose; they had a bear visit the day before I arrived). The campground hosts were super nice and helpful. Make sure you get their tips on trails! 

Great base to explore East Glacier

Stayed here during its primitive status. For a vault toilet it was nice, but only one available for the 30 sites open. Only one for both men and women, so very busy. This had enough trees and bushes you did see anybody else. 


Late season

Site 74 was absolutely the best campsite in one of the best campgrounds we've stayed in. Beautiful riverside plot with open space but still relatively private. The campground itself was well appointed with clean and well-functioning bathrooms. There was some bear activity while we were there, and the friendly and diligent Ranger team stayed on-site making us feel safe and informed. On a 2+ week adventure across the NW USA&amp; Canada, this was definitely our best stop. Highly recommend!

Amazing campsite in a beautiful place. Also, bears. 

I was in site 88 which was quite lovely with the stream behind it. I fly fished there and caught some trout! It's shallow so not for swimming but nice to stick your feet in to cool off. There was plenty of room to put my 4 person tent with an awning, though the awning was slightly outside the wooden tent pad markers. There was various shade throughout the day. I did have to pack up my tent and sleep in my car as there was grizzly activity after some folks weren't thinking and left some food unattended! The game wardens WILL fine you if you leave either food and/or fires unattended. If you're solo, like I was, you really need to think ahead before you prepare food or start a fire."I had to use the restroom" won't fly with the wardens! Grizzlies don't care and that fire could start a wild fire! 

The biggest drawback was that the dumpster was right in front of my site but mostly people were extra careful not to let the spring-loaded access door slam. There's plenty of space between sites so I didn't feel like I was crammed in there. I could barely see my neighbors through the trees/bushes. I assume they'd be easy to see in spring or late fall with little vegetation. If you need to be right next to a bathroom, this isn't the site for you. It was across the road, down a path. There isn't a bear box for food storage directly ON this site but there's one nearby to share with another site. This site was in the no-generator loop, yay! Camp host, Jane, was ridiculously wonderful! She keeps a lending library outside her RV and encourages children to go out and find "exciting things" to display on her table for all passersby to view. FUN!

From this site, you can walk to the Swiftcurrent Inn/deli/store which has basic necessities, a lot of junk food(very little produce in the park at all!), sandwiches, cold drinks, gift type things and where you get the tokens for showers. For those who are flying and can't bring bear spray, they have it there in the store. The Swiftcurrent Inn is also the parking lot for many of the trailheads nearby. TIP: seek out Fishercap Lake, just about a 10-minute easy walk from the parking lot. Moose are almost always seen there in the early mornings and early evenings.

 If I get lucky enough to go back, I will absolutely try and get this campsite (and just about anywhere in the campground) again! I far preferred the east side to the west. I stayed at the Sprague Creek campground on the west side which was a totally different experience. I'll write a review for that one too.

Fantastic experience!

One of the beautiful campgrounds within Glacier National Park. We were surprised to hit about 3 miles of fairly rough dirt/ gravel road on the way in as we hadn’t seen this mentioned in any of the reviews. But it was passable, and fine. 

  

Campground was nice. All sites are the sort of pull-through along your site types, and they all looked fairly level from what we saw. There are ranger talks both at the campground and at the nearby hotel. There’s a little lodge and a camp store next to the campground. We saw signs for public showers and public laundry at the lodge parking lot but we didn’t check them out. Several really nice hikes start from here at the campground. The biting flies were really obnoxious on the hike, I’d recommend long sleeves. No cell reception here at all. 

  

Trash bins and aluminum can and plastic bottle recycling here only. At the St Mary’s visitor center there’s a standalone glass recycling bin in the parking lot. There’s a dump station and potable water fill at the entrance to the park, but the water was broken when we were there. Water spigots throughout the campground but none that you could use to fill your rv tank. It was hotter than normal when we were here in July and maybe that’s why we saw zero wildlife :(

Too many rangers wandering around with not enough to do. They leave nasty notes at campsites and sit around all day visiting with each other at the station. 

Nice campground, too many rangers 

The road into Many Glacier campground is a challenge but well worth the agonizing ride in. 
There is nice spacing between the sites. There are no hookups and there are generator hours that people have no trouble complying with. The hosts are very nice and are willing to help in any way possible. They do a mandatory bear awaretalk for new arrivals. 
The campsites are predominantly shaded so solar really doesn't work well there. The restrooms are clean and there are utility sinks for emptying gray water waste if you are a tenter. The water and dump station are just out side the entrance between. There is a ranger station just past the dump station. 
Located on the north side of the campground is a store, lodge, restaurant, laundry, and shower. The laundry is coin operated. 

Probably one of the campgrounds  I would ha e no trouble going back to.  Try clean, quiet, and tucked a way i etween two mountains where spotting wildlife on the slopes in the evening and mornings  is a favorite pass time.
