Ashley Lake South Campground is located near Ashley Lake in the [Flathead National Forest](https://thedyrt.com/camping/montana/near/flathead-national-forest), MT. The area features forested terrain with access to the lake for water activities. Temperatures range from 20°F in winter to 80°F in summer, and nearby attractions include Glacier National Park and Whitefish Mountain Resort.

This is a very small campground with 2 sites, a vault toilet, picnic tables and fire rings. There is a walk down boat launching site for kayaks and canoes. Access road has sharp hairpin corner so RV's are not recommended. Stay limit is 5 days.

The Best Camping Near Kalispell, Montana

Ashley Lake never disappoints. The camp sites are a bit rough to get too but as long as you're tent camping or have a very small and agile pull behind you'll be okay. It can get a bit windy later in the day but it's still beautiful. 

Clear Blue

I have stayed here several times. Bathroom is similar to outhouses. But it's nice and there's still that beautiful clear blue water... Relaxing. Peaceful..

Its the smaller of the two camping areas on Ashley lake. So not a good fit for more than tent camping. RV and Trailers are not recommended on this side of the lake.

There are only about 6-7 spots, first come first serve, and it's on a real rough road to get there. It's a perfect location for easy water access, but also seems like it could be a popular spot for teenagers and parties so there is no real quiet hour enforcement. Pit toilet in the center of the campground.

Good spot if lucky

We camped there and had the best time, we were there Monday to Thursday and saw about 3 others camped there. The lake is crystal clear and the campground is very clean.
