Description
Open forest-road terrain above Clinton overlooks the Clark Fork corridor in the Lolo National Forest, sitting at the edge of Montana high country — close to Missoula but well removed from pavement. I-90 and the occasional freight train carry faintly across the ridge, and dirt bikers work the surrounding trails, but the elevated position and open sky make it a solid overnight in a pinch. The one-lane access road has a deep washout and a muddy stretch that can challenge longer trailers in wet conditions; high clearance is wise, and anything much over mid-sized should turn around early rather than risk getting stuck.
