Lolo NF Dispersed — Black Cat Gulch Road

Description

Black Cat Gulch Road climbs through the Lolo National Forest foothills above the Clark Fork valley, where a cluster of gravel pullouts sits on a steep hillside with open views down toward Frenchtown. The narrow access road is entirely gravel, climbs sharply, and hugs the ridge edge — manageable for vans and small rigs in dry conditions, but not suited to towing. Several sites with fire pits are spaced roughly a quarter-mile apart along the route; a seasonal gate closes access through late spring and typically reopens around Memorial Day.
