Description
Forest Service Road 6770 climbs through the McGregor Lake corridor of northwest Montana's Flathead National Forest, passing a rocky pullout roughly 1.5 miles up the road that is easy to spot by the rock wall marking its boundary. The terrain is open and exposed — wide views sweep toward McGregor Lake and the surrounding ridgelines, but wind is common and shade is nonexistent. The ground is rough and uneven throughout, making this a better fit for vehicle-based camping than tent setups; there is a primitive fire ring on site, and enough room for multiple rigs parked comfortably.
