Bearmouth Rest Area — I-90 Westbound

The Bearmouth Rest Area is a large Montana DOT facility on I-90 westbound near mile marker 143, set back far enough from the highway that most overnight visitors report surprisingly little road noise. Overnight vehicle parking is permitted under Montana DOT policy for up to 12 hours; camping (tents, awnings, outdoor setups) is not allowed. Facilities include 24/7 running-water restrooms with private individual stalls, a water spigot near the dog walk area, a small dog park, and ample parking that accommodates big rigs and large RVs alongside standard vehicles — note that RV and car spots are adjacent to the truck parking area, so diesel engine noise overnight is possible.
