Beautiful secluded spot on the lake

I loved my two nights here! Very quiet and a close, easy drive to the Pictured Rocks hikes I wanted to do. Spots are large and spaced out. Campground is first come first served, $15 a night + Michigan recreation pass. Vault toilets were okay. Well water available in the campground.

Surprisingly beautiful

I really enjoyed this campground. It was a last minute choice after a long day of driving and it was absolutely perfect. Sites are not super private but the sites on the lake side had a small walk to the gorgeous beach. That was private and quiet. From the beach the sunset and moonrise were…

Big sites, super quiet!

We originally wanted to stay at the Lake Superior state campground, but all spots were full so we tried blind sucker #1, which had spots but not the vibe we were looking for. This lead us to blind sucker #2 and we couldn’t have lucked out better. The sites were huge, it was extremely quiet and many…

Nice campground with beach access

We stayed at a few places in the upper peninsula, this was the last stop. It’s a nice campground far off the beaten path, about 6 miles of a country road. Vault toilets were pretty clean and there was a path to access the beach. It may have been the site we stayed at (1) but it was the noisiest…

Manistique, Lake Michigan

This is by far, one of the best campgrounds I have ever stayed that is an actual campground and not a resort. There are about 12-15 lake front sites with awesome views. Accessible nice sandy beaches and this park is very clean. All concrete pads with 30 or 50 amp on every site. WiFi works pretty…

Beautiful, quiet area

Great getaway place for a no-service weekend! Clean showers, bathrooms, and access to plenty of convenience stores and gas stations nearby. We stayed at the Rivermouth campground which was not too far from the Lower Falls area. Good hiking spots close by (Clark Lake and the falls). Clean area that…

Quiet and beautiful

A nice mix of FCFS spots and reservable ones. Large, rustic spots with a dump station and potable water available. Vault toilets.

The beach is exceptional, covered in glass from the old smelting furnace that used to be there. Close to pictured rocks and Marquette.

Best Campsites in Michigan

This place is breathtaking. The road to get here is sketchy at best, make sure you have everything you need before you get there.... but it is worth it. A walking suspension bridge is over the Two Hearted River leads to a rocky beach with some of the most epic sunsets you will ever see. The…

Clean, Quiet Campground

We choose this campground for its close-ish proximity to St. Ignace and the Labor Day Bridge Walk. There are modern toilets, and even though the facilities are very dated they are possibly the cleanest I've ever come across at a campground. There are kayak, SUP and Canoe rentals on site, as well as…

Needs attention

This campground suffers from a lack of TLC. Not much attention to facilities, trash… noise from highway terrible. We managed a lake site but no privacy. People parked any which way and it was annoying. Too close together. Only one wash house for entire campground. Very undersized. Luckily our…

Must see!

This was a beautiful place with many campsites on the water. The vault toilets were the cleanest I've ever seen anywhere! I would definitely stay here again.

Great for canoeing

Stopped for a night to camp and canoe around the Fish Lake area. There’s a really cool little camp spot on one of the islands. Next time we’ll definitely be packing for a stay out there. Very clean and quiet.

It’s a place to park your rig

It’s in the highway so road noise is bad. The pool is heated and decent but it’s not the Ritz. It’s close proximity to sightseeing but definitely overpriced for what it is.

Needs improvements, but stays busy so they don't seem to mind

Vibe: Backyard gathering in a messy but functional camp redeemed by a spectacular setting.

Cleanliness: Below average.

Facilities: Restrooms, showers and trash collection are undersized for the size of camp.

General spots: Some great spots by the lake. Many others might as well…

Aces

There's actually seven sites, but they're all pretty premium, spacewise and just general atmosphere. Each has its own fire ring and a picnic table. The loop is also directly connected to a cheeky little waterfall trail. Nice and out of the way

  • Outhouse across from the first site. Furthest site obviously having the longest commute
