## Overview

 Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore hugs the Lake Superior shoreline for more than 40 miles (64 km) along Michigan's northern coast. Lake Superior is the largest, deepest, coldest, and most pristine of all the Great Lakes. Camping at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a great way to relax and enjoy the beauties the lakeshore has to offer. Campgrounds are rustic, and do not provide electric or sewer hookups. Campers, trailers, and RVs are welcome, note there are generator free areas. Cell phone reception is limited, so unplug, unwind, and enjoy the serenity Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Campgrounds has to offer.\_This small campground (9 sites) is located 3 miles (1 km) north of Alger County Road H-58 and 20 miles northeast of Munising on Little Beaver Lake. One campsite is wheelchair accessible. Because of the small campsites and the narrow, twisting, hilly access road it is highly suggested you check the campsite length, width, and height before booking.Pets are NOT allowed at Little Beaver Campground.A small boat ramp is available for launching boats. Only electric motors are permitted on Little Beaver Lake and Beaver Lake as these lakes are within the Beaver Basin Wilderness area. Little Beaver also features the Little Beaver Nature Trail, a 1.0 mile (.3 km) loop trail. A 1.5 mile (2.4 km) trail leads to Lake Superior and connects with the North Country Trail.

## Facilities

 Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore drive-in campsites are rustic and do not have electric, water, or sewer hookups. Campsites provide a picnic table, fire ring with grill grate, and tent pad. The campgrounds have vault toilets and well water. Tent-style enclosures for campsite portable toilets are strictly prohibited. Typically there is no cell phone reception.

Whether you are looking for campsites near the beach or closer to the local waterfalls, you can find it near Munising, MI. Explore nature trails on foot or horseback, and listen to loon calls on Grand Island or enjoy watching the waterfowl on Duck Lake. Some campgrounds offer onsite stores and restaurants where campers can find all of the necessary supplies for their outdoor adventure. RV owners can take advantage of campgrounds designed to accommodate larger vehicles. When the weather turns colder, yurts and cabins will keep visitors warm during their camping trips.

Munising

The Best Camping Near Munising, Michigan

This was a quaint campsite. It's first come first stay, so it's a bit or miss. We went during the end of September so the colder weather kept most people away. It's a pretty far drive from Munising, but fairly close to Miner's Castle. Lots of trails near by. And there is a boat launch at the campsite.

Secluded 

We stayed in this campground for 2 nights; one night in site #8, one night in #6. There are only 8 sites in the campground, which makes it a nice, quiet retreat. Two of the eight campsites have accessible fire rings, which are extremely difficult to use. The campground has easy access to Lake Superior and several trails that run along the coastline. It was also the closest campground in the park to Miner’s Rock, the visitor center, and Munising. Vault toilets and and no cell phone reception might be a problem for some.

Picturesque and primitive 

This is the campground to stay at for the easiest access to Miners Castle which is one of the more popular places to check out in the Pictured Rocks area. 

  

Campground is VERY small and first come, first served.  Unfortunately, we picked a busy weekend and had to opt to stay at another campground since this one was filled.  It was a place I'd definitely want to stay when we return to the area. Sites seemed nice and the vibe of the campground, though 'full', was pretty quiet and chill. 

  

If you stay here you must check out Miners Castle- it's beautiful with the bright blue water surrounding the point!
