Camping directly at the beach on beautiful PEI

We had a beach-side site and a glorious view directly over the Atlantic! The water was so clear and the clouds were picturesque. Our site was windier than other parts of the campground, we tried making a fire but put it out since we were uncomfortable with the idea of strong wind blowing embers around. But many of the other sites are very close together, though protected more from the wind. The campground has about 200 sites, plus cabins. It was packed with people, but we only had a neighbor on one side. There was damage to trees from a hurricane in recent years, but our seaside site was grassy and open, not affected by that. We spent time at the beach and we drove a bit to tourist places on the island. It is a vacationer’s paradise. We had local ice cream, mead, cheese. The views while driving are idylllic. Had fun at an amazing bistro and bookstore in North Rustico called Tide and Tales. Green Gables is nearby, too.
