Jump Past The First Travel Center To Arrive Here

If you find yourself hustling and bustling east or west along the I80 corridor and are in need of a pit stop or something a bit longer like an overnight stay, then the good folks at the Pilot Travel Center have you covered. One word of caution would be that this as well as the TA Travel Center right near here are completely log-jammed with large 18 wheelers coming and going in non-stop fashion all throughout the day and night, making for some pretty unsettling noise as well as visual disruption. If you do decide to park here, rather than turn into the wide-open parking area behind the Pilot that is reserved for rigs, you are better off to simply park along the street that runs up against the lot, which will keep you away from all the busy traffic and noise.

What you will appreciate about this particular Pilot Travel Center is that at least the store itself looks to be brand spanking new while also offering both a Subway and Cinnabon in case you are needing something to munch on high in carbohydrates. There’s also a PJ Fresh Market Place inside this Pilot Travel Center, in case you need to pay for overpriced groceries that you can easily get nearby for at least 50% cheaper at the local Walmart, which you’ll conveniently find located just back the way you came and across the other side of I80.

While scoring criteria may vary from one person to the next, here are the 5 most important criteria that informed my rating of this overnight location: convenience (EZ on- and off-access), safety & security, quality (of facilities), peace & quiet and amenities (either on-site or nearby). Here’s how I ranked this particular overnight spot:

Convenience: 4

Safety & Security: 4

Quality: 3

Peace & Quiet: 3

Amenities: 3

Overall, I scored this location a 4.

Happy Overnighting!
