Orogrande Summit Campground is located in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, featuring forested terrain with elevations that provide a rugged landscape. Temperatures can range from lows in the 30s Fahrenheit during cooler months to highs in the 80s during summer. Nearby, visitors can explore the historic mining town of Elk City or enjoy outdoor activities at the Clearwater River.
Description
Orogrande Summit is a developed campground with camp pads, all dispersed throughout open timber. Expect to see alpine country with associated wildlife in this high-elevation campground on the route to Buffalo Hump. Wildhorse Lake is about two miles by road northwest of the site. This campground also serves as the trailhead for Columbia Ridge Trail #205.
