Description
Step directly onto a hidden piece of South Georgia frontier history. Located just outside Waycross, this ultra-private, 2-acre primitive campsite sits on an ancestral homestead tract deeply tied to the legendary Wildes Massacre of 1838.
The property features an original, unrestored home currently being carefully reclaimed from 50 years of dense Georgia brush. This structure is tied directly to the lineage of the surviving Wildes children, with generational artifacts—including a hand-marked mattress bearing the name of Charlie Wildes—still resting inside.
This is a strict, off-grid primitive tent camping experience for true history buffs, writers, and minimalist outdoorsmen who appreciate the profound silence and weight of the deep woods.
