Wolford Campground is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, in between Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Rock Mountain National Park. 

For all weekends, there is a 2-night minimum stay. There are tent sites as well as cabins available for rent. 

 Camping is $20 per night, with a $5 charge per vehicle per day. The tent sites arE  located on site in loops A-D.  Loops A-C have electricity, picnic table, and A fire pit. Sites in loop D have a fire pit and a picnic table, but do not have electric . hookups. There is a boat ramp open between May 15th - October 15th.

The Best Camping Near Kremmling, Colorado

Beautiful views abound, the lake is very clean and access is easy. There is lots more lake for us to explore on our paddle boards, but each day the wind picks up around 1-2pm and makes travel treacherous at best on the lake. Camp hosts are friendly and welcoming. They offer $7 bundles of firewood and $4 bags of ice. 

The bathrooms are all vault toilets, with running water sinks. Very clean and up kept but no soap. And we never saw any showers anywhere. There is a fish cleaning station next to the launch ramp, which was very nice to use. 

Fishing was rough from shore, conditions are slow due to temperature and late season snows, some locals informed me. Also advise trying to get on the water to fish, much better results trolling, just like you see lots of folks on the lake doing. 

The campground has no shade, no trees, no cover, only some picnic tables have roof covers but no wind block. There is no cover or shelter from the wind. And it blows, everyday, according to the camp hosts. Sometimes extremely high winds- 
40+ mph. We had to use our hammock rain cover as a shield in the shade shelter to cook dinner, and help keep our sanity in the wind. 

Sites are all very small for tents. If you have a large tent you may have trouble finding any ground worthy of trying to sleep on. Most camps we saw had campers, and parked them all as wind blocks, hiding out each afternoon behind the RV or camper. 

The camp was fairly clean, although I did pick up handfuls of micro trash and did a loop around the campground picking up a handful of larger trash too. I'd say a B+ on litter. 

Overall we had a good time, but for the price- we did expect a little more. Showers. More space and flat area per campsite. Trees, cover, wind blocks are needed when it is known to have such high winds on the daily. 


Not bad 

Services are good. The area is semi desert there is no trees in the campground. The campground lacks any natural charm, and we can for a quick lunch stop. Prepare to pay $10 per car to access the Lake.  If you  have a boat it may be your paradise.


Woldford Camping

Campground is easy to get in and out of.  43' plus toad was no problem in and out if site.  Also easy access to the water and boat ramp.  It also had great views.  Wind was not too bad for us but that meant lots of very hungry mosquitos so pack up on deet (was still attacked after spraying the 30%).  T-Mobile service is non-existent.  AT&amp;T was okay for calls but challenging for data without a booster. (cell tower is to the West but behind a large hill).  Sites to the south may have better coverage.

Not bad for a few days

Lake was full, not low like many reservoirs. Campsites were clean but rvs just parked on road next to tables. Some sites had covered tables. It seemed to be windy every afternoon. Close to Kremmling for supplies and shopping.

No trees, but easy boat and pontoon rentals.

Driving by, we pulled in and it is a great location - so we booked in. I imagined bbq overlooking the lake every night. 

But. I need data and the towers were over a hill, so absolutely no data coverage on any of my hotspots. What a pity because the location and view are awesome.  

Only electricity, dump and water available- but water is locked at the single faucet ( apparently non campers drive by and top up)  

There is a new Verizon tower right opposite, but apparently not yet in service 

Great location, zut cell

Only one loop was open/plowed, but that was plenty as I was the only one there for a couple nights. Nothing spectacular about this place during winter, but it appears to be a popular ice fishing spot. 30 amp power was clean. Wasn’t horrible leveling a small camper, but I can see why larger ones would have a hard time.

We had the entire loop to ourselves. Beautiful views and very private because no one was here in mid May.
