Description
Cascade Creek Road (FR 783) cuts through the San Juan National Forest near Engineer Mountain, hosting a cluster of creekside pullouts at around 8,700 feet in a lush mountain corridor. Multiple spots are spread along the road, several dropping steeply down to the water's edge — high clearance is advisable, and the rough, narrow road makes this better suited to vans, truck campers, and smaller rigs than to trailers. The adjacent Cascade Creek Trail offers direct access to hiking and mountain biking, though the area draws trail traffic during the day.
