Accessible via dirt roads, Tumco Ghost Town provides free dispersed camping on Bureau of Land Management land in southeastern California's desert. The site sits near the remnants of a historic mining town, with campers able to set up among scattered ruins and mining equipment. Roads require high-clearance vehicles in some areas.
The campground operates under standard BLM regulations with no hookups or facilities. Campers must pack out all waste and bring their own water. Gold Rock RV & Mobile Home Park offers full hookups less than two miles west for those preferring developed amenities.
